Regular Bookings
Stitchers
We were set up as a social group and have been running successfully for 25 years. Its members share a love of crafting of all kinds, but it is not a requirement of those wishing to join us. We would rather continue our primary purpose and be open to those wishing to meet people and make friends. We are happy to teach anyone wishing to learn a new skill such as knitting, crochet, patchwork, quilting. We hold occasional workshops on demand or to raise funds for the hire of the hall. Mostly we share a lot of fun and laughter, as well as support if needed. The group is non-profit making and we pay sufficient only to cover the cost of the use of the hall. The group will be meeting on an adhoc basis for the time being, dates and times will be advertised.

Coffee Mornings
Coffee mornings are held each Tuesday from 10am to 12 noon. We always have delicious home-made cake available. This is an ideal opportunity to meet with friends and make new acquaintances while enjoying a chat over a cuppa at very reasonable prices. We are dog friendly so why not join us after walking your pet. The building is also fully accessible for the disabled.
We would welcome new volunteers to join our rota of those manning the coffee mornings, even if only on an occasional basis.

Wayland Quilters
Are a local sociable quilt group who meet from 7pm until 9pm on the 2nd & 4th Tuesday each month, except in August.,,Everyone is welcome to come along with your sewing, meet up with friends and just sew for a few hours in comfortable modern surroundings. We have group activities such as monthly makes, learn a new technique, start new projects or just make friends.
As a group, we make Heart Cushions for breast cancer patients and Project Linus quilts which are donated to Project Linus Norfolk.

Thompson Women's Institute
We meet every second Tuesday of the month in the large hall from 7.30 - 9.30pm. We usually have a few minutes of WI news - what's going on in the County, Nationally and local events in Thompson. This is usually followed by a speaker, and of course we socialize with tea and biscuits and occasionally cake. To celebrate our WI birthday, we normally go out for a meal.
We have a ten-pin bowling team and darts team and go on the occasional outing. In addition, we belong to the Woodland Group of WI's, which meet twice a year. Being a group, we can afford a more expensive speaker and it also allows members to socialize with other institues.
Everyone is welcome to join or just come along and see if it is for you. Find us on Facebook or for more information contact Kate Winslow (01953 483476) or Carol Bayley (07712718008)

Ice Cream Thursday
We are open each Thursday after school hours for ice creams, snacks and drinks including teas and coffees for the adults. Although the sessions were begun in response to the children using the play area after school so that we could make the toilets available, we are open to all. With no shop in the village it is possible, once a week, to purchase ice cream from a limited range. Hours are 3pm to 4.30pm.
Petanque/Indoor Curling
Now that we have our newly built petanque terrain, we have begun regular weekly sessions on Thursday evenings during the lighter evenings. Bring your own boules if possible but we do have a couple of sets we can loan for beginners. We have been very lucky to have had instruction from the Great Ellingham team and have played a couple of friendly matches with them to help us learn the rules and techniques. During the winter months we have purchased an indoor curling set to use.
